Kevin Carty’s distinguished career is highlighted by delivering dynamic business results both as an executive and as a consultant. He is accomplished in building organizations, generating new business, winning board support, and securing funding. Carty, a co-founder of Precise Advisory Group, orchestrates organizations using participatory leadership. He collaborates and ensures inclusiveness decisively. He communicates and maintains a high sense of ethics. He brings executive experience with practical and creative direction. Having started his own company and having been a part of other start-ups as well as working in-house in global corporations, Carty is well-versed in the precise planning and management needed to make any business or project a success. Carty’s broad range of experience was showcased in 2009 when he assisted with defining a merger strategy for Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) in Chicago. Throughout the third and fourth quarters of 2009, Carty worked with executive members and the MFS Board of Directors to determine the key business drivers and approach for successful mergers as MFS strategized to effectively add business scale. By identifying potential merger targets and eventually evaluating target merger candidates, Carty was invaluable to the MFS strategic planning. It is this level of service and expertise that Carty brings to all of his clients. As president and chief executive officer (2008) of Back Office Cooperative (BOC), a Chicago, Ill.,-based shared-services company that delivers procurement, IT, finance, accounting, and HR services for eight Chicagoland not-for-profits, Carty incorporated the cooperative into an Illinois not-for profit and secured federal tax status. As the cooperative’s top executive, he created the brand marketing and promotion strategy, established the group’s procurement product offerings and identified and recommended corporate governance policies to the Board of Directors. His work with BOC resulted in him being tapped to assist a former BOC client with its merger strategy. As the founder of Carty Consulting Group in Chicago in 2001, he built the business from ground up with a critical focus on business process flow and effective project management. Under his direction, his company created a business intelligence program for a $75 million cryogenic life sciences company, arranged a $1.5 million debt financing program for another client and assisted several clients with business plan development. Carty’s consulting expertise extended to The Johnsson Group in 2005 where he delivered 25% of the company‘s annual revenues, developed new go-to-market and organizational strategies and developed the framework for setting up a division, including product/service offerings. From 1997-2000, Carty was a principal consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP where he improved client business performance through the application of a variety of consulting solutions. He also served as manager of strategic service for KPMG-Peat Marwick from 1996-97 where he focused on designing and implementing customized finance office optimization programs. As finance manager of Case Corporation (1989-1996), Carty was responsible for a variety of management and leadership roles, including the participation in full-scale program restructuring, process re-designing and savings and finance value improvement. Early in his career, he held finance positions with Gatorade Finance at the Quaker Oats Company and with Revlon. Carty received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University in 1979, where he was co-captain of Princeton University’s 1979 Men’s Track and Field Team, and an MBA in Finance and Economics in 1983 from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Carty was a member of the New York Pioneer Club from 1974 – 1985. Carty currently volunteers as an Alumni School Committee member for Princeton as well as an Allocations Working Group member for the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Carty resides in Chicago. |
